In spite of the fact that Zionist leaders think they are specialists in politics and economy, their State today is in the midst of the worst crisis since its foundation, at a moment when the opposition and various social sectors begin to demonstrate their displeasure with this policy. The Zionist administration of Israel has unleashed a lengthy wave of violence and terror to try and stabilize the region in pursuit of the defeat of the Palestinian people. Once more they try the path of eliminating the leaders of the Intifada in order to escape the crisis.

The request for the acknowledgement of a Palestinian state within the boundaries previous to the 1967 war and the right to a permanent seat in the Security Council of the UN that the President of the Palestinian National Authority (PAN), Mahmud Abbas, presented to the above mentioned organism once again posed the issue of the “Palestinian question” in the centre of the international political debate.

The recent invasion of Lebanon by Israel and their defeat by Hezbollah was not just another war waged by the Zionist state in its 58 years of life. A new reality has started taking shape as the invasion advanced and the defeat of Israel by the Lebanese became obvious.

In spite of countless expressions of courage and willingness to fight that has been the brand mark of the restless history of Islam, especially of Iraq, the Iraqi working class has not yet been able to build a revolutionary leadership fit to carry on the struggle for national liberation to the very end, to the expulsion of imperialism from their territories, the expropriation of the parasitic and blackmailing bourgeoisie always licking the boots of whatever imperialism may have happened to be in the office. That is why those leaders in whom the toiling masses have trusted have betrayed them. The two most outstanding examples of the above are the two major political forces of Iraq: the Baath and the CP.
